เรื่องย่อ This Is 40 เป็นหนังตลกดราม่าเรื่องใหม่ของผู้กำกับ จัดด์ อพาโทว์ (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Funny People) ซึ่งถือเป็นหนังกึ่งภาคต่อ ที่ต่อยอดมาจาก Knocked Up (หรือหนัง Spin-Off นั่นเอง) เพราะ This Is 40 เล่าเรื่องราวหลายปีหลังจาก Knocked Up แต่แทนที่จะโฟกัสไปที่ตัวละครของ เซธ​ โรเกน และ แคเธอรีน ไฮเกิล ก็จะเปลี่ยนไปโฟกัสที่ครอบครัวของพี่สาว นั่นก็คือ พีท (พอล รัดด์) และ เด็บบี้ (เลสลี มานน์) และลูกสาวทั้งสอง ...พีท และเด็บบี้ ต้องเจอกับความท้าทายครั้งใหม่ (หลังจากที่มีปัญหาในครอบครัวไปแล้วใน Knocked Up) เมื่อเรื่องงานกำลังลำบากสำหรับทั้งสอง ทั้งค่ายเพลงที่พีททำอยู่ และร้านขายเสื้อผ้าผู้หญิงที่มีพนักงานใหม่ รับบทโดย เมแกน ฟอกซ์ และ ชาร์ลีน ยี โดยลูกสาวของทั้งสองยังคงรับบทโดยลูกสาวแท้ๆ ของ จัดด์ อพาโทว์ ...จาก ตัวอย่าง ถือว่าเป็นหนังตลกของ จัดด์ อพาโทว์ อีกเรื่องที่น่าสนใจ เพราะหยิบเอาเรื่อง “วัยทอง” ของพ่อแม่สองคนนี้มาเล่น โดยเฉพาะ เด็บบี้ (เลสลี มานน์) ที่ดูจะมีปัญหานี้ชัดเจน!!!
